The following changes were made to version 3.7
of all eMedic products (i.e., eMedic for Palm, eMedic for Pocket PC, and
eMedic for Windows):
- If you are viewing certain Medicine records (approximately 35 different
medicines) and you use the See Also menu to open the Dosage
or Drip Calculators, the calculator will display default values for that medicine (e.g.,
the appropriate dosage and concentration). Medicines that have this capability mention that you can select the calculator from the See Also menu to calculate the
dosage. Select Drip Calculator from the Dopamine record to see an example of this feature. The eMedic Editor allows you to specify the default
dosage for any medicine.
- The following changes were made to the Drip Calculators:
- The default values
are pre-populated with the default values when the Drip Calculator is selected
from more than 35 Medicine records (see above
comments).
- You can now calculate infusion rates over 10, 15, 20, and 30 minutes (in
addition to various numbers of hours).
- In addition to calculating infusion rates in mL over time (which
is now referred to as mL/time rather than mL/hour), you can now calculate the rate as liters over time (i.e., L/time).
- The order of the units in the drop down list (i.e., ug, mg, gr, and g) is
now arranged from smallest to largest.
- The following changes were made to the Dose Calculator:
- The default values
are pre-populated with the default values when the Dose Calculator is selected
from certain Medicine records (see above
comments).
- The order of the units in the drop down lists (i.e., ug, mg, gr, and g)
are now arranged from smallest to largest.
- The following changes were made to the anatomical records:
- Teeth Image. An image of teeth was added.
- Genitals Image. Images of male and female genitals were added. These images
do not appear on older Palm computers (i.e., they require Palm OS 5.0 or later with a color display). On older Palm
computers the message "Image Not Available" is displayed.
- Skin Image. A cross-section of the skin was added. These images do not
appear on older Palm computers.
- Arteries Image:
The Temporal pulse was labeled. This label does not appear on older Palm computers.
- Foot Image: On the high-resolution foot image, labels have been added for cuboid, cuneiform,
navicular, and talus bones. (These were already labeled on the low-resolution Palm image.)
- Urinary Image: On the high-resolution urinary image, added and labeled
the adrenal glands. (These were already labeled on the low-resolution Palm image.)
- Knee Image: On the high-resolution knee image, labeled the (hidden)
fibula. (This was already labeled on the low-resolution Palm image.)
- More Links. Added more tap-map links between anatomical images (e.g., from skull to vertebra, from
skull to teeth, from upper airway to/from teeth, from urinary to male/female genitals, from thorax to vertebra, from
thorax to pelvis, etc.).
